On June 19th Jason and I celebrated our 1 Year Anniversary. I can't believe it has already been a year. It has gone by so fast. But I am so excited to be married to my best friend, he is really the greatest person in the world and I love him so much. For our anniversary we went to Salt Lake City for one night and then to Park City for one night. When we got to our hotel in SLC He had surprised me with the Romance Package which had sparkling apple cider and chocolate covered strawberries (yummy) and a 2:00 check out. No waking up early for us.....except we still ended up gettin up early because we had to make sure we made it to breakfast on time.
Then after we left the hotel on saturday we went to Timpanogos Cave which was really fun. This pictures is of a fault line we walked in. It goes up about a 12o feet, wouldn't want to be there when an earthquake hit. But I would have to say I like Minnatonka Cave better. Then we went to Park City Saturday night. We went a drove around and looked at a lot of the stuff they had there. Went and looked at the Olympic Park and even went to Silly Sundays on Main Street. Which is basically like a farmers market. We had a lot of fun. Just still can't believe we've been married a year.
Love you Sweetie!!!
Then last Saturday (the 27th) Jason and I decided to hike the Wellsvilles for the first time ever. We had our friends Heather and her husband Tyler go with us. Let me tell you we had a really fun adventure. So for those of you who have ever hiked the Wellsvilles before probably know that you should stay on the trail. Well yea none of us have ever hiked the Wellsvilles and nobody gave us any warnings about leaving the trail. (because my family loves to leave trails and kinda just do our own thing, so it sounded like a good idea) So a few hours into the hike we saw a cave in a group of rocks, so we thought it would be fun to go over and look at the cave. So it was really steep walking over to the cave (and keep in mind we were walking in a whole bunch of loose rocks and had to hold on too grass to help us not slide down the rocks)Finally made it to the cave and sat and rested for a few minutes and then decide to head on. And we didn't want to go back the was we came so we went on the other side of the rocks and hiked up to the top of that ridge ( Which was still hiking up a steep hill with loose rocks, but wasn't as bad as the other side.) But when we got to the top we decided it looked easier to go out a different way instead of hiking back to the trail. So we thought we would hike down one of the ridges which would basically take us straight out to my parents house. Yea that was the big mistake. We ended up going through a whole bunch of brush that was really thick and then going through really thick trees which you basically were walking on top of because you had to smash them down just to get through them and then when we got to a valley which would have been really easy to walk through there was a whole bunch of stinging nittle (and of course we were all were shorts) So we had to walk back up one of the hills (thankfully it wasn't to steep of a hike, and we knew there were pine trees up on top so the trees wouldn't be bad) But for us to get to the top we had to walk up through more trees, which seemed a lot more thicker than on the other side we climbed down on. By the time we got back up to the hill the trees thined out a little. We still had to climb through a bunch of trees to get down and then the last hill we hiked down was really steep and we literally had to hold on to whatever we could so we didn't slide down the hill. We finally made it to my parents house and 9:30. Our legs are all scratch up and we all a little sore, but we survived the Wellsvilles. It was actually kinda fun going through all of that, just wish we would have known about it and been a little more prepared for it. We thought we would be gone about 5 hours, but we were gone for 10 hrs. And when we told my parents what happened they just laughed at us and said yea we could have told you what to expect if you leave the trail. Would have been nice to been told that before we left. Sadly we didn't get any pictures of what the trees looked like because inside the trees there really wasn't a good spot to stop and get a picture. The one spot we did stop at to rest end up having a few ant hills in that Jason and Heather sat in so we left that spot as soon as possible. Sorry no pics!
